I ordered the moussaka, which came in a generous portion but, unfortunately, lacked depth of flavor. The texture was fine, and it looked appetizing when served, but the taste itself felt quite mild. The side bread pieces also didn’t make sense, maybe more salad was needed instead. I kept waiting for that rich, hearty balance of spiced meat and creamy béchamel that usually makes moussaka such a comforting dish, yet it never quite arrived. It wasn’t bad by any means, just a little too gentle in flavor, and I found myself wishing for a bit more meatiness and complexity. Perhaps that’s simply the way this particular version of Greek cuisine is prepared, leaning toward subtlety rather than boldness, but I personally would have enjoyed a deeper, more robust profile.
Where the experience really stood out, however, was the service. The team were exceptional warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly from start to finish. They offered helpful suggestions on what to order and made sure everything came out smoothly. It’s rare to see that level of care and engagement sustained throughout a meal, and it made a noticeable difference to the atmosphere.
At the end, they surprised me with a complimentary dessert. A drink they serve too. It was a thoughtful touch and added to the overall sense of hospitality. That said, I could have done without it, as it felt like more of a polite gesture than a highlight. Still, the sentiment behind it was appreciated and reflected the staff’s dedication to creating a pleasant experience. A good vibe.
In summary, the moussaka could use more depth and intensity in flavor to match its generous serving size, but the excellent service and warm, accommodating team more than made up for it. With a few small improvements in the kitchen, this could easily become a place I’d recommend without hesitation.

Stopped for lunch on a Sunday in November. The reviews suggested we should eat here and really pleased we did. The service impeccable, the gyros (chicken) absolutely delicious, the addition of dill was so good. We were given some pastry as a desert. I would totally recommend....and we got a seat too!

My husband and I ate here based on past reviews and were not disappointed! Food was delicious, staff was very kind and attentive, and there was free wifi and clean outdoor seating. We both got the pork/chicken giant gyros which were amazing! I also got the fresh squeezed orange juice which was great as well!
Edit: The owner came out and gave us a free dessert for being pleasant customers!

Delicious, authentic Greek food, and super friendly service with a smile. They had gluten free pitas, so were able to cater for coeliacs. Thanks Mina and Mark for being so lovely with the kids and the complimentary dessert while they napped!

10 stars. Brother and sister powerhouse team works the kitchen and the customers seamlessly. Outdoor Seating is under awning shelter and they have heaters.
I updated this review after eating dinner at Victory a second night. The first night We ate outside in the rain easily, comfortably and dry. The weather did not ruin our experience but only enhanced the ambiance.
The second time we returned to Victory for dinner after venturing out and eating the bland, tasteless and spice-less Greek food throughout the tourist area.
Victory is a hidden gem and the best kept secret of Athens. If you ate at other restaurants around here and wondered why it all tasted the same (not good and bland) then you need to walk a few blocks away from the tourists and dine here.
The food is fresh. Lentil soup is well seasoned like grandma makes with touches of fresh parsley to indulge the palate. Gyro is fresh, moist, well seasoned and with the right amount of tzatziki so it’s not too wet and it too dry. It also has an addition of parsley, dill and a hint of hot pepper. Grape leaves are the standard you would expect. The second night we ate the white bean soup which was flavorful and tasty. Both nights we had a different chocolate desert which was just the right amount of sweet without being overpowering.
The service is enjoyable. It is like going to visit your friends for dinner. They welcome you when you come, are hospitable while you are a guest, and greet you and thank you as you leave.
This was my family’s best dining experience in Athens due to the high level of professionalism, curtesy, friendliness and hospitality. I highly recommend doing like we did and dining here a few times.
Thank you for feeding my family two nights during a four night stay. If life brings us back to Greece, we will return.
